Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a fun and delightful Saturday! Anyone else over winter? Wouldn’t it be lovely if the season of spring was just around the corner? If only. Eh, it’s just a few more months until spring, so there’s that. Anyways, instead of going on and on about my seasonal depression, let’s talk about my goals for the new year!
Pop Culture Goals!
Television
When I said in previous articles that I am behind on a lot of TV, I was for real. There are literally so many, many shows that I fell behind on in 2021, so many. Here I am now, in 2022, hoping that I finally get around to watching some of the TV shows that I didn’t get around to watching last year.
TV Shows I Hope To Watch In 2022…….. Drum Roll Please!!!
Riverdale (Season 5) – I seriously can’t believe I fell behind on this show last year! I mean it’s Riverdale, how did I fall behind on this, how?!
Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas – Yes, I, too, still can’t believe I haven’t watched this yet either #SaveZoeysPlaylist!
The Big Leap – If someone from the TV show Felicity is on a show, you better believe this TV Nerd is going to watch that show!
Normal People – First though, I have to finish reading the book.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel – One of my favorite shows! Must watch the latest season before the new season begins!
There are, for sure, definitely more TV shows I am looking forward to watching in 2022, but that list would be pages and pages long, lol. Let’s just start with these shows and go from there shall we!
Reading and Books!
Last year, I made a goal to read more books. If I compared how much I read in 2020 vs 2021, I did improve, but I didn’t read as many books as I would have hoped to have read. Had I finished reading my current book, Normal People by Sally Rooney, I would have read 5 books in 2021. But, alas, this bookworm is still currently reading that book, which is just amazing, by the way!
My goal when it comes to reading and books in 2022 is to, once again, read more books! Also, to try and read more often because this bookworm is so annoyed with herself for always taking so long to finish a book. The goal is to finish reading a book in, like a month vs like many months.
Books I Hope To Read in 2022…… Drum Roll Please!!!
Looking For Alaska – I bought this book a few years ago on my birthday. The story sounds interesting, and also there’s a TV adaptation of this novel on Hulu! Last year, I finally read Turtles All The Way Down (book review to come at some point, so stay tuned fellow bookworms!). It was the first book by John Green that I have ever read, so I’m excited to read more of his work.
You Love Me – I am such a fan of the YOU book series by Caroline Kepnes. She is such a brilliant writer and really draws you into her books. The first two books in this series were books that I could not put down. I mean, the story of Joe and his craziness is incredibly twisted, but at the same time you just are so curious to what the heck is going to happen next. I bought this book over the summer, but I was already in the middle of reading another book at the time, so I definitely can’t wait to read this book finally in 2022! On a side note, I still enjoy the TV series YOU, but Season 3, ummmm kind of a mess. Yeah? Eh, whatever I will still be tuning into Season 4 either way.
One Of Us Is Lying – I bought this in a hardcover a few years ago. Yes, I am that bookworm who buys a book and then goes out and buys more books when there are books that I have that I have not read yet, lol. Anyways, TV adaptations always spark my interest when it comes to books, so the plan is to read this book in 2022 and then tune into the TV series and see how it compares. The show has a very Pretty Little Liars meets The Breakfast Club feel, so sounds amazing! And yes, I know there is a sequel to the first book, and yes I have that book too already as well. When will I read it? Who knows, lol.
Movies!
When it comes to things in pop culture, movies are something I rarely get around to watching. I usually only really watch movies when it’s something that I really want to see like the film adaptation of tick, tick…BOOM!, or I’m just too depressed to watch TV. Anyways, I’m hoping to watch more movies this year.
Movies I Hope To Watch In 2022…. Drum Roll Please!!!
All the Marvel movies- My main reason for wanting to watch the films in this franchise is that the Marvel series on Disney + look so good, and I know that the stories from the movies transfer to the stories on the shows. I want to fully enjoy the Marvel TV shows, so I know that watching the films first is kind of like a must. I feel like I’m the only one who didn’t watch WandaVision last year. Yeah, I definitely need to watch the Marvel movies this year!
Dear Evan Hansen – When I initially saw the trailer for Dear Evan Hansen, I thought, wow, this looks just as good as the Broadway show, minus Ben Platt’s hair style of choice in the film. I’ve heard a lot about this film since I saw the trailer, but I still can’t wait to watch this anyways.
The Psych movies – I saw the first Psych movie when it came out, but I still haven’t seen the second film yet. I am a huge fan of this TV show, so I gotta get on watching the second film already. Not sure if I’ll get the chance to watch the third film in the series as you have to upgrade on Peacock to watch it.
Broadway!
Here’s to hoping in 2022, I finally get to see some Broadway shows. I’ve missed Broadway, like, A LOT!!!!! I don’t want to get too emotional today, so I’m just going to leave it at that.
Broadway Shows I Hope To See In 2022….. Drum Roll Please!!!
Depending on when I finally make it back to Broadway is how I will decide what shows I want to see first. Right now I really want to see Company and Tina: The Tina Turner Musical. If I don’t make it back to Broadway though, let’s say until the month of April, then the first show I want to see is Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice is coming back, baby!
Personal Goals
This is a fun article so I’m not going to talk about my feelings and life now too much, but there are a few goals I am going to set for myself in 2022.
Upgrade My Blog
I really miss doing reviews on my blog. My main reason for the lack of reviews of my blog the last two years is that I have like no storage space left and it felt pointless to have a review that might be a few pages long and not have any pictures of the show I was reviewing in my article. So, if you’ve been wondering why I have been recycling pictures from this article to that article the answer is I ran out of storage space two years ago, lol.
Anyways, I can’t wait to upgrade and be able to write about something, whether it be a TV show or a stage play, and get to put pictures up on my articles into between all my ramblings! If the upgrade goes well, the first TV show I plan to do a review on is Emily In Paris!
Start A YouTube Channel
I have been thinking about starting a YouTube channel for a while now to talk about my love for all things in pop culture. I don’t know, I just thought it would be fun! When I get my channel up and running I’ll be sure to let you all know!
Paint My Nails Once A Month
Wearing makeup these days seems kind of pointless, so thank goodness for nail polish! I used to paint my nails all the time growing up. In the last few years, I got into painting my nails again like I used to. What fun! Although fun, at the same time it is very time consuming. I’m not the best at painting my nails, but thanks to a few YouTube videos on how to paint your nails, I have gotten better at it. I just tried Essie Expressie for the first time last week, and I love this polish! My goal is to paint my nails once a month because why not!
Even If Feeling Down, Don’t Let It Get You Down
The last thing I want to talk about is how I hope in 2022 that I don’t let my sadness get to me like it did in 2021. There’s a lot going on in the world that is just depressing, and then on a personal level there was a lot that happened in 2021 that kind of flipped my world upside down. I’m kind of embarrassed now honestly about how much I talked about how I was feeling last year, but yeah, that happened so moving on. Thanks though for reading what I had to say in my articles and for your kind comments, it meant a lot to me.
So, those are my goals for 2022. Originally, I was hoping to have a fun day outside, but when it looked as though that wasn’t going to happen, I decided to write this article. See, I’m already sticking to my last personal goal of not letting how I feel somewhat sad take over my day entirely. I did something productive instead and wrote this article!
What are some of your goals for 2022? What TV shows, books, movies, or theater do you hope to see or read in 2022? Have you upgraded your site on WordPress? If so, was the process of upgrading super easy and simple? I’d love to hear in the comments!
As always, thanks so much for reading!
Until Next Time!
Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist is on my to-watch list!

Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist is just like the best show ever! I still can’t believe I haven’t watched the TV Movie yet. I so hope Roku picks this show up! That would be amazing! I hope you enjoy this show as much as I do!
