What Got Me Through This Week…

Russian Doll on Netflix

Hey everyone.  This past week was a bit difficult for me to get through.  Some days are better than others, and that’s just how it is sometimes, I guess.  In today’s article, I’m going to put real life to the side for the moment to talk about the things that helped get me through this past week.

Veronica Mars TV ShowMy Blog

I started my blog in spring of 2018, but when it comes to publishing my articles I’ve never had a set schedule.  I write something, then edit what I wrote, and then I publish it.  When it comes to posting on my blog it’s very random like I said, just usually when I finish writing something.

On Monday, I posted an article about how Season 5 of Riverdale was still not up on Netflix.  UPDATE: Literally, the next day Season 5 of Riverdale was up on Netflix.  Then the next day I ended up thinking of another thing to write, and then the next thing I knew I had posted on my blog for several days in a row.  Something I don’t think I’ve done since I began my blog a few years ago.

Writing is something I have come to quite enjoy.  When I began my blog in 2018, I began it as mostly a pop culture blog with occasionally writing here and there about my life.  My blog these days is still very much about pop culture, but it has also become a place where I can talk about how I’m feeling and my thoughts on life.

This week was difficult to get through like I’ve already said, but having a place where I can talk about pop culture or how I’m feeling made a week like this past week a little easier to get through for me.

BooksI Finished Reading A Book

Last year, I only ended up reading two books total for the whole year.  I’ve said this before in previous articles, but the reason for this bookworm not reading a lot last year was that I found myself not being able to sit down and focus enough to read anything.

I don’t read a lot of books throughout most years, despite going to the bookstore several times throughout the year to pick up more books that I need like now, lol.  The reason for that is when I read I usually only read about ten pages at a time.  Hence, why I don’t read that many books throughout the year.  I’m just not that bookworm who can sit down for a few hours and just read.  That would be awesome if I was because I would read so many more books than I do during a year.

Since I began to really read again a few years ago, I usually read about five books a year.  This week I finished reading Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver, which is my fourth book read of the year.  I started reading this book at the very end of July, so yeah, I take forever to read a book, lol.  But, this week I finally finished reading it!

I’m not going to review the book, but I really liked it.  The ending was a bit confusing, but regardless, I really enjoyed this book.  It’s a book that’s been on my bookshelf for forever, so I’m happy I finally picked it up and read it.

Before I Fall was adapted into a film a few years ago, and I can’t wait to see how it compares to the novel.  I’ve already picked my next book to read.  When it came to what book I wanted to read next I had three books in mind, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, You Love Me (the third book in the YOU series) by Caroline Kepnes, and It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini.  I decided the next book I will read will be… It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini.

TV ShowTV

Believe it or not, for the last few months I actually haven’t been watching that much TV.  But, I am a TV Nerd after all, so I am watching TV, just not as much as I used to.  Life for me might not be great at the moment, but the shows currently on TV are!

Last weekend was the return of Succession on HBO, and to say the least I was excited about this show’s return.  As the theme song played on my TV, I was overjoyed to have this show back in my life.  It’s so good!  I’ve written about this show several times on my blog, so it will come as no surprise to those of you who follow my blog that I was excited about this show’s return.  The first episode of Season 3 was amazing and intense, and I can’t wait to watch the rest of this season.

What We Do In The Shadows is also a current favorite TV show, along with The Morning Show on Apple TV.   Jennifer Aniston is amazing on this show!  I also just started to finally watch Ted Lasso!  Ted is the best!

Well, that’s it for today’s article.  Initially, I wasn’t going to post an article today, but I found myself wanting to write something and so this is what I came up with.  Maybe I’ll try and do these kinds of articles more often on my blog, as a way to focus on the things that lifted my spirits up throughout a week instead of focusing on if I’m sad and not feeling great.

My many, many thanks to those of you who tuned into my blog this week to read my articles or to play TV Show Trivia!  It really meant a lot to this gal.

Crazy Ex- GirlfriendBefore I go, some fun pop culture questions!
